if you are having trouble getting stem plants to stay down use the top off a sports drink bottle. the piece you snap off. make a hole in the top of the top big enough for the base of plant to fit through.or slice it. fit the stem in and fill with gravel or sand. push top into gravel and hey presto. the plant is planted.
