first of all trim off the floss leaving approx 1/4 inch next get some darning plastic from a hobby shop and trim just smaller than the floss then sew through the floss and plastic meash to attach it then go and plant it. the mesh and wool are planted under the gravel so it is hidden and also holds the plant in place

So why use the mesh, Is it to add weight or make it rigid or both

the mesh its self is very light and floats even in a full sheet, i use it mainly to keep it rigid but also as the roots grow through the mesh the wool can be can be gently removed and leave the whole thing in place. with this particular plant the roots are so fine and small it is near impossiable to plant on it own.
the only other way i have tried with this plant is to remove all wool and place the roots on the mesh then cover the plant with a hair net to keep it in place and the roots grow through the mesh and the plant grows through the net hiding it eventually.
