Not much to report about my planted tank. My Cryptocoryne balansae is still looking a bit rough. But i thought i would share this picture. Its my Echinodorus cordifolius 'Tropica Marble Queen', I'm really impressed with the growth on it. The smaller, higher leaves are the original leaves the lower, bigger leaves have grown in since i got it.

it's called Echinodorus cordifolius 'Tropica Marble Queen'. The black looking stuff on the smaller leaves is algae. when i first got it through the post some of the leaves where completely covered in film of algae. But as the plant produced oxygen, the bubbles got caught under the algae. it got to the point where there were so many little bubbles that they ripped most of the algae off the leaves. The snails in the tank seem to be slowly clearing up the rest of it.

Today i have just added my first fish into the aquarium, A half dozen neon tetras. I acclimatised them to the water over a couple of hours because the waters Ph is lower than they where used too. Hopefully there won't be any cases of Ph shock. I will keep the lights out for a couple of hours too. I'll have to keep an eye on them make sure there is no ammonia or nitrite problems. They are hiding under the Echinodorus cordifolius 'Tropica Marble Queen' leaves at the minute. but going well they should get use to their new home soon.

Just to let u all know that my neons have settled in nicely. Their behavior has change from when they were in my community tank, they seem alot more active than before so hopefully this bods well for the future. Also I'm going to have to start taking cuttings from some of my plants as they grown too tall for the tank. I'm really impressed with this co2 injection it does wonders for plant growth. In the past my plants would have taken months and months to grow as much as these one's have done in 1 week with the co2 injection.

Looks as if my Cryptocoryne balansae might be finally making a comeback. I have one solitary leave growing out of what looks like a stump of dead vegetation. I thought it would die off a bit when i planted it, but never expected all the leaves to die off and drop away. hopefully it will make a full comeback. ;D

Found one of my neon tetras dead today, floating at the surface of the water. The water quality seems fine, I'm pretty sure it was just old age that was the cause of it's death.

I've added rest of my neon tetra's from my community tank to the planted tank. They seem to have settled in fine.
