Guys,
I have a couple of Vallisneria gigantea in my tank which are beginning to cover the top surface of my tank and i am concerned about how much light they are blocking out for plants below.
I would like to trim them back but i am unsure how to do this. The leaves at the base are becoming very thick and so if i trim only the top section of the leaf i think the leaf will grow back even thicker and look unslightly - hope that makes sense.
Do i just trim the leaves back by cutting off the leaves at the water surface or trim closer to the root of the plant.
Do i cut striaght across? Diagionally? or curved like the eixsting leaf form?
Any advise would be appreciated.

hi PP, sorry not been around been off line for a while.
to trim the valls just cut diagional across the top of the leaf. at the base it should be throwing out runners to stop it becoming to thick.
